This functionality allows the merge segmented/ fractured cases in Corti into one case in order to gather all the data belonging to the same incident and be able to review the case properly having all the relevant information at hand

To merge two cases:
- Identify two cases (it is possible to merge only 2 cases at a time) that refer to the same incident.
One of the cases will be parent, and the other one - child.
Normally, it is not really important which cases is named the parent case, and which one is the child. The only situation in which it might matter is when the two cases have conflicting data.
If the parent and child case have conflicting data (this refers to metadata, e.g. different values in metadata for a same property) the values in the parent will overwrite that of the child.
2. Copy the Case ID of the child case by clicking Copy button:
3. Go to the parent case.
4. Open the three dots menu and hit the 'Merge cases' button (click on image below to zoom in):
5. Paste the Child's Case ID in the dedicated box (highlighted below) and proceed to CHECK.
If everything is correct, the Child case will be fetched by the system and populate the merge cases view.
6. MERGE. The system will ask you to confirm one more time before proceeding with the merging.
It is impossible to undo the merging once it has been done.
Once the contents have moved to the parent, the child's case will be deleted permanently. The case ID of the child will also no longer be accessible.
