To cover triaging if a user is offline, we have introduced offline and emergency modes for Engage.
Offline Mode
When a user is offline but already logged in to Corti:
- The user will see a "Reconnecting..." message at the bottom of their screen:
- The current active session can be used as normal, and new sessions can be created
-
A spectator can take over a session if the spectator is online
- This scenario could occur when only part of your center loses connection, allowing those who remain online to take over the sessions from those who lost connection
- If the original session owner comes back online, it will now be a spectator of the original session
-
Engage data such as reporting and events for Clear is locally cached until the connection is restored
- For CAD data, two scenarios can occur:
- If you maintain a connection to your CAD while offline, such as with an on-premises CAD server, events should pass from Engage to your CAD
- If you lose connection to your CAD, events will be cached locally and will push to your CAD upon restoration of your connection
- When the connection is restored, the user will see a "Reconnected" message, and the page will refresh:
Restrictions of Offline Mode:
-
Data syncing between the spectator and owner will not function in spectator mode and the spectator will need to refresh after the owner is back online
- The session handover feature is disabled
Emergency Mode
When a user is offline and not logged into Corti:
Emergency Mode loads a cached version of the protocols from the last time a user logged in with a connection. This means if you've never logged in while online to that app or browser Emergency Mode will not have any cached protocols to load.
Emergency Mode should only be used on instances of Corti where regular utilization of Engage is already occurring.
- An "Offline Triaging" button is displayed on the login page at the top right corner that allows the user to open the protocol available in offline mode:
- You may need to wait a moment or refresh the page before you see this option.
- If offline triaging is clicked, the user can proceed with an offline session of the active graph
- The "reset session" button at the top right corner will bring you back to the start of the protocol
- The back arrow in the top left corner will bring you back to the login page
- You will not receive a message in Emergency Mode when your connection is restored, so you will need to navigate back to the login page yourself when back online
Restrictions of Emergency Mode:
- No data is saved or cached
- No integrations will function
