Introduction
A Content Block is the smallest unit of protocol content one might use when building or editing a protocol in the Protocol Editor.
Content Blocks are used to populate protocol views.
The Protocol Editor includes several standard Content Blocks, each with their own purpose.
This article aims at explaining each standard content block, as well as supporting you in using each of them.
Standard Content Blocks are located in the "Block Picker" section of the Right Sidebar, in the Single Node View of the Protocol Editor Module.
Standard Content Blocks
Action
The Action content block enables call-takers to send specific type-codes with a simple click. Actions communicate with integrations such as CAD software, if integration is available. For instance, it is relevant to enable call-takers to send a specific type-code, indicating the dispatch of a specific set of resources in accordance with your organization system.
Paragraph
The Paragraph content block enables you to add an informative text block containing read-only text for the call-taker.
For instance, it is used to display contextual protocol information in a protocol-step or to display post-diagnosis guidelines.
Simple Text Input
The Simple Text Input content block allows the call-taker to insert free-text information as a single line of text. For instance, it is relevant when call-takers need to provide short free-text pieces of information.
Multiline Text Input
The Multiline Text Input content block enables the user to insert free-text information on several lines. It is particularly relevant to insert open-ended questions which require the call-taker to add free-text information over several lines, or to add a field dedicated to call-taker notes.
Select
The Select content block supports closed-ended questions, where the call-taker can choose to select answer(s) from a list of defined options. For instance, it is used for questions that need to be answered with a specific range of answer options.
Flow Value Collector
The Flow Value Collector content block collects desired input from your triage flow. It is useful to create automated summaries or sporadically display previously collected information, to wrap up a conversation or ensure a high-quality patient handover when a triaging process involves the succession of several call-takers.
